The Baltic Guitar Quartet is considered the leading guitar ensemble in the Baltic States and has performed in over 20 countries in Europe and Asia and at prestigious concert halls, such as the Berlin Philharmonic, Forbidden City Concert Hall in Bejing, Royal Castle in Warsaw and Southbank Centre in London.
Their repertoire ranges from music of all the main classical eras, over Spanish and Balkan music to rock and jazz. Many of the works have been arranged by the quartet’s members, Chris’ original compositions and pieces are dedicated to the BGQ by Lithuanian composers. Chris’u “Summer dance” became one of the quartet’s most popular pieces. BGQ performances are characterized by their sensitive, subtle, colorful and virtuoso style of playing.
The ensemble has collaborated with violinist Vilhelmas Čepinskis, double-bass players Guy D. Tuneh (Germany, Israel), Donatas Bagurskas and Vytis Nivinskas, multiinstrumentalist Saulius Petreikis, tenor Edmundas Seilius, soprano Judita Leitaitė, M. K. Čiurlionis string quartet, St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra, Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra, “Senoji Camerata” and Klaipėda chamber orchestra.
